April Lockhart
April Lockhart is a born on July 4, 1995. When she was in the 7th grade she began taking piano and guitar lessons. This ignited her passion for songwriting. When April was 12, she composed her first single Different. When she was 14, April spent much time writing and honed her musicianship skills. After a while, she began to go on trips with her dad and to write songs at home in NY as well as LA. April started to include other subjects in Take My Hand for the people in her life who are struggling with peer pressure, disabilities or even suicidal thoughts. Lockhart also has an ever-growing fan base as a lifestyle blogger as well as a spokesperson for the popular brand of clean and natural beauty Ilia. It's true that she was born without a left hand. This makes her unique. It's not the only thing about her. Lockhart acknowledges her handicap in her posts on Instagram, however she isn't making it the focal point of it. The point? that we are all a part of a multitude that our identities are complex and that we're much greater than the physical person we are. It's not my intention to let that determine me. I do not want to be a disability influencer in which I only talk about because there are other aspects to me. Lockhart states in video form from her home in Nashville. The issue doesn't affect my everyday activities. I conduct my business as usual and have found different ways of adapting. However, I also consider it to be a vital component of my life. Lockhart is a great example of how to stay moving forward with self-acceptance. However, she admits to going through periods of feeling insecure about her body, and also feeling uncomfortable wearing some clothing types which showed her arms. She now wears whatever she'd like. She also posts her photos on social media. Self-love, according to her, is like a journey. "I do not think that you will ever be in that place," she said. That's true of everyone regardless of their insecurity. I think it is important to be around individuals who truly understand the person you are.
