Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej Now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born 12 November 1961. She was the first Romanian to be awarded a score of 10 for an Olympic competition. Comaneci was discovered by Bela Karolyi later the Romanian gymnastics coach at the time she was just six years old. Her first competitive event was the national junior championships in which she was 13th place in 1969. In 1970, she won. In her first international competition in 1972, a pre-Olympic junior event for countries of the communist bloc she was awarded three gold medals. In 1973 and 1974 she was overall junior champion. At her first competitive event at the senior level, Lyudmila Turkishcheva of Russia won five gold medals as well being awarded a silver. In 1976 she became the first person in the world to utilize a reversed double salto in order to take off parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her career began as an entertainment professional as a teenager, when she performed as a figure skating duo with their sister Nina Wayne for the travelling show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Carol was a part of the entertainment business during her teenage years. Her first professional gig was figure skating alongside Nina Wayne, her younger sister as part of traveling entertainment programs Ice Capades. It featured dramatic ice-skating shows.
